Portal de Sant Antoni in the walls of Tarragona
Tarragona is a city located in the south of Catalonia on the north-east of Spain, by the Mediterranean. In the 2nd century B.C. a great wall was built around Tarraco, delimiting the municipal boundaries. This gate, known as the gate of Saint Antonio, was built in 1737, in Baroque style. Over the arch is the coat of arms of King Philip V of Spain, flanked by two lions. Under it, is the coat of arms of Tarragona.
