Monochoria vaginalisÃÂ is an annual herb inhabiting rice paddies or marshes, etc. the whole resemblesÃÂ M. korsakowiiÃÂ but is significantly smaller. The racemes emerge with fewer flowers and which position lower than the levels of leaves. The leaves are small, compared with M. korsakowii, measuring only 3-7cm in length, its shapes variable - lanceolate, oval lanceolate, or egg-heart. Flowers, blue-purple, measure 0.5-2cm in diameter. Bloom time: September-October.
