Chiton, Liolophura japonica

Chitons are marine molluscs of varying size in the class Polyplacophora, formerly known as Amphineura. They are also sometimes known as gumboots or sea cradles or coat-of-mail shells, or more formally as loricates, polyplacophorans, and occasionally as polyplacophores.
