Calephelis genus metalmark neotropical butterfly
This is a Calephelis neotropical genus butterfly, Riodinidae family. Common name: metalmark butterflies. There are about 45 described species in the Calephelis genus. Characterised by having a submarginal band containing a series of black dots, and bordered either side by metallic silver lines. Observed near Mayan Biosphere Reserve, Peten department, Guatemala. Population and distribution threatened by climate change.
