Mexican tree frog in my ginger plant
This beautiful frog is a Smilisca baudinii species, Hylidae family. Known as the common mexican tree frog. It is found in Central America. Its legs have distinctive dark banding. They are usually found within lightly forested areas near permanent sources of water. This one visited me at night, perched on my ginger plant. Observed near Maya Biosphere Reserve (MBR), Petén department, Guatemala.
