Christmas Market
A Christmas market is a street market associated with the celebration of Christmas during Advent, mainly 4 weeks before Christmas Day. Over time, markets have become an integral part of Christmas traditions. For most, the real Christmas markets kick off Christmas. The first Christmas markets include the Dresden markets, which were held in 1434. Originally, Christmas markets were used for people to stock up on food, warm clothes and other necessities for surviving the winter at the beginning of the cold season.
