Checheng Station

Checheng is located below the Mingtan Dam in Shuili Township, Nantou County. During the Japanese occupation, it was once prosperous due to the construction of the Daguan Power Plant and the timber industry. It was also the location of the Zhenchangxing Timber Yard. In order to transport equipment, raw materials, and Nantou timber required for the power plant construction, the early Checheng was a manual handcart transfer station. At that time, Checheng was an important distribution center for Nantou timber, and there was always a constant flow of people and carts, making the Checheng area of Shuili known as Little Taipei. This shows the prosperity of Checheng at that time.
