Besano, Italy near Monte San Giorgio, important area for the presence of fossils
Besano is a picturesque village in Valceresio, near the famous lake of Lugano, between Varese and Porto Ceresio. The mount San Giorgio (mountain Saint George or Monte San Giorgio) and the area of Besano are to be considered among the most important fossiliferous deposits in the world of the Middle Triassic.
