Lorenzo State Historic Site is a mansion built by Colonel John Lincklaen, founder of the village of Cazenovia, New York part of the Central New York region. Situated in historic Cazenovia, the 1807 Federal style home is a painted brick mansion, begun in 1807 and completed in 1809, and overlooks Cazenovia Lake. Cazenovia Lake is a lake in Madison County, New York. It is located 20 miles southeast of the city of Syracuse. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The great lawn at Lorenzo features centuries old trees. The formal garden and Dark Aisle Arboretum are in 87 acres. Lorenzo was continually occupied by the Lincklaen - Ledyard family until 1968. The imprint of all of Lorenzo`s residents, including the enslaved people, servants and many employees required to run the estate, can be found at every turn.
