Parang gourd, called Oyong Gambas or Oyong (Luffa acutangula, the pumpkin tribe or Cucurbitaceae), is a minor vegetable commodity. Planting is usually done in the yard or part of the field that is not used for other crops. Gambas fruit is harvested when it is still young and processed as a vegetable. Gambas is still related to belustru (Luffa aegyptiaca).
