Tree stump covered with moss and fungi Gewone glimmerinktzwam (Glistening Inkcap-Coprinellus micaceus) in the Harderbos of nature organization Natuurmonumenten near Biddinghuizen. The trees have reached their natural end of life. Trees that fall over remain as a food source for mosses, fungi, mushrooms and insects. In 1968 the forest was planted in the new Flevoland polder. The soil consists of fertile marine clay, so that the trees and plants grow well.
