View over the historic lock complex and abandoned jetty in Plassendale, Belgium. Near Plassendale, on the connection with Ostend, there is a dam with a transfer for shipping to and from Ostend. The complex was important during the Siege of Ostend and the Spanish Succession War. The area around the lock complex has been protected as a village view since 11 February 1997.
