Local historians agree that the Presidio Officers Club and The Old Mission are the two oldest building in San Francisco,but they do not agree on which one is actually older. Originally located about a block and half east of here,it was moved to this location because of the supposed near by lake that was there at the time. Modern hydrologist realized there never was a lake the at that location at the time,thinking it was just a misinterpretation of the historic writings of the first expeditionary forces through the area in 1776.
