Pictured is a baroque altarpiece with the Madonna and Child in a nave in the parish Church of Saint George in the central square of Varenna. The Madonna and Child are standing and crowned. On the left side of the altar is a statue of the resurrected Jesus with his sacred heart. On the right side of the altar is a statue of Saint Joseph and the Child Jesus. The Church of Saint George was built between 1250 and 1313. Varenna on Lake Como is in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region of Lombardy.
