Although 13 year old John Daly lost his mother,in 1854,when they were traveling together from Boston to California,that did not deter him. Having established a dairy farm with 250 acres in nearby San Mateo,this house in San Francisco Mission District is still one of the most outstanding and well maintained homes in the area. After the San Francisco 1906 Earthquake and Fire left many people homeless,Daly then decided up his own farm into plots which he sold to the displaced people.
