The Via Ferrata "Casa Zmeului", Crisului Repede Gorge. Bihor County, Romania.

Casa Zmeului is the House of the Zmeu. Zmeu in Romanian folk mythology is a fantastic creature representing a fabulous embodiment of the forces of evil, imagined as a giant (with a scaly tail and wings) with supernatural powers, but with a low intelligence, always being defeated by the forces of good. The Crisului Repede gorge is a protected area of national interest - a natural reserve of mixed type, located in the west of Transylvania, on the territory of Bihor county. The natural area is located in the Padurea Craiului Mountains (the northwestern part of the Apuseni Mountains that belong to the Carpathian chain of the Occidentals), in the central part of Bihor county, on the administrative territory of the communes of Vadu Crisului and Suncuius. The Crisului Repede gorge represents a natural area of floristic importance (vascular plants present with cormophyte species: fern, equisetatae species: horsetail) fauna (through the presence of mammal species: wolf, deer, wild boar, fox, rabbit birds, reptiles and fish) and geological due to the limestones in the gorge and the caves included in the reserve.
