St Francis Lutheran Church San Francisco 6
The St Ansgar Church,built by the local Danish immigrant community in 1905,on this spot and in the heart of the Scandinavian community of San Francisco,who are mostly Lutheran. With the church surviving the 1906 Earthquake and fire,the parsonage was then used as a hospital and feeding station. In 1964 this church merged with the nearby,and older Finnish Lutheran Church,jointly taking the cities name sake,St Francis. As seen 18 September 2023.
