Aeonium arboreum 'Zwartkop' (Aeonium arboreum) is a cultivar of Irish rose, also known as tree aeonium, tree houseleek. It belongs to the family Crassulaceae also known as stonecrop family or orpine family. The other common names of this evergreen succulent plant are Dark purple houseleek tree, Black tree Aeonium, Black beauty, Black rose, Purple rose tree, Purple rose, tree aeonium, tree houseleek, Irish rose. It has magnificent rosettes glossy, fleshy, dark purple leaves. If grown in full sun the plant foliage turn almost black. If planted in partly shaded place rosettes turn reddish purple with a green centre.
