Tektite, Meteorite, Splash Tektite polished tumbled stones

A Tektite is formed when a meteorite hits the Earth’s surface. Normal tektites are commonly found all over the world mainly in desert areas due to them being able to be spotted easily, however, they fall land everywhere. Exceptions to this rule happen when the meteorite is big enough and is named, examples of this are: Moldavite (Green Tektite) which is only found in a small region in the Czech Republic and Libyan Desert Glass (Yellow Tektite) which is only found in the Libyan Desert or Darwin Glass which is only found in Tasmania, Campo Del Cielo found in Argentina. Tektite has been recorded and found throughout history and most cultures consider them to be a good luck stone.
