Snapdragon or Ruellia tuberosa is flowering root plant that was used for medicinal uses.
Snapdragon is an old favorites that in optimum cool summer growing conditions, will flower well from spring to fall. It was used traditionally as a diuretic, for treatment of scurvy, liver disorders and tumors. The leaves and flowers were used as antiphlogistic, resolvent, stimulant, and as poultices on tumours and ulcers.
