G?uszyca (German: Wüstegiersdorf) - a town in the province of Lower Silesia, in Wa?brzych County, the seat of the G?uszyca municipality on the Bystrzyca River, in the valley between the Owl Mountains and the Kamienny Mountains (Suchie Mountains) in the Central Sudetes.The center of the textile, clothing and wood industries. The seat of the commune authorities. During the war, the site of sub-camps for prisoners and forced laborers from nearby Gross-Rosen.On its territory there is part of the so-called Riese complex (German: Giant). This codename was used for one of the largest mining and construction projects in the history of Nazi Germany. The works covered a huge area located on the slopes of the Owl Mountains and in the vicinity of the Ksi?? Castle. To this day, it has not been clearly determined what the buildings erected as part of this project were to be used for. In G?uszyca there is an entrance to part of the complex called Osówka.
