Salvia Bowleyana Dunn is a plant species in the family Lamiaceae, genus Salvia. Perennial herbs The roots are thick, with a reddish red appearance and a light yellow cut surface. The stem is thick and about 1 meter tall. The leaves are pinnate compound, 10-20 centimeters long. The corolla inflorescence is 8 to many flowers, with a group of 14-30 cm long terminal racemes or racemose panicles. The small nut is oval shaped, about 3 millimeters long, brown, and has hairs at the top. The flowering period is from March to July.Salvia Bowleyana Dunn root is used as a medicine, with the same effect as Danshen. Indications: Menstrual disorders, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea, joint pain, chest and rib distension and pain, restlessness and insomnia, angina, abscess and erysipelas, neurasthenia, rheumatic arthritis, chronic hepatitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers.
