Purple Magnolia (scientific name: Yulania liliiflora (Desr.) D. L. Fu) is a plant of the Magnoliaceae family and Magnolia genus, endemic to China. Magnolia is a deciduous shrub of the genus Magnolia, reaching up to 3 meters tall and often clustered. Its bark is grayish brown, and its small branches are greenish purple or light brownish purple. Leaves elliptically obovate or obovate, 8-18 cm long and 3-10 cm wide, apex acute or gradually pointed, base gradually narrowed and extending downwards along the petiole to the petiole scar, dark green above, sparsely pubescent when young, gray green below, and pubescent along the veins The lateral veins are 8-10 on each side, and the petiole is 8-20 millimeters long. The stipular scars are about half the length of the petiole.
