The Pešter plateau is the source of peat, which with its bio-potential is one of the highest quality peat, both in Europe and in the world. It is rich in dry land for sheep grazing (the region is known for products from Pešter-Sjenica sheep or Pešter-Tutin sheep, such as Pešter cheese). The Pešter Plateau also includes the Pešter Field (altitude 1150m), an area of ??63 km2.
