Situated on the right bank of the Brahmaputra River, close to Bhairavi Temple, the ruins of Bamuni Hills date back to roughly the 9th and 10th century AD. Archaeologists surmise that a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu stood at the centre, with four other temples for Lord Shiva at the corners.
