Pictured is an African bush elephant standing drinking water near the edge of the Chobe River in Chobe National Park in Botswana, Africa. They drink around eleven gallons of water a day. It was photographed from a safari boat based at the Chobe Game Lodge. Elephants are herbivorous and will eat as much as 660 pounds of leaves, twigs, fruit, bark, grass and roots a day. The binomial name is Loxodonta africana.
