Small white cranberry flowers, Vaccinium macrocarpon, got their common name from resemblance to the heads of crane birds with long beaks, originally the name was craneberry. The flowers have four reflexed back bending white to pink petals and grow in bogs and wet swampy places like the pine barrens of New Jersey.
