Kohinata Shrine, a shrine in Kohinata, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo

Hikawa Shrine was founded in the spring of 940 (Tenkei 3) by Taira Sadamori, the governor of Hitachi Province, who pacified the area, and was dedicated to him. It was later rebuilt by Ota Dokan and flourished as the guardian deity of Kohinata. Hachiman Shrine was founded in 860 (Jogan 3) and was known as Tanaka Hachiman in the past. It is located in what is now Otowa 1-chome, Bunkyo Ward, and has long been loved by the locals as the guardian deity of the area. In September 1869 (Meiji 2), the two shrines were enshrined together, and in 1871 (Meiji 4), it was renamed Kohinata Shrine.https: youtu.be s-ca8XJdb7M
