Itâs an evergreen, tropical tree from the family Rubiaceae and is native to South and Southeast Asia. It has sweetly fragrant red to orange flowers in dense globe-shaped clusters which in early stage appear like a Covid-19 virus. It is grown as an ornamental plant and for timber and paper-making. Its fruit occurs in small, fleshy capsules packed closely together to form a fleshy yellow-orange infructescence.
