Seen from the back, a great blue heron stands in leg deep water, next to the peering eyes of an alligator, at Lake Apopka.
A majestic great blue heron surveys the water as an alligator, off to its left, surfaces within feet of it. The heron and clouds are mirrored in the glassy waters, all the while, the alligator hides in vegetation, creeping up to it, on this hot summer day at Lake Apopka.
