The first kiss ever painted on the walls of the Scrovegni chapel
It was back in the year 1305 when Giotto di Bondone painted a fresco capturing the moment when Virgin Maryâs parents, Joachim and Anne, kissed each other at the Golden Gate in Jerusalem. It is thought to be the first kiss in art history. This fresco is part of the cycle that covers the entire walls of the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua.
