Thun Castle, Switzerland

From above the Aare river at the northern end of Thunersee (Lake Thun), the Thun Castle is dominating the town stretching at its feet. The origins of the city are strongly connected with that of the castle, as the city developed around the castle build in 1191 by Berthold V, Duke of Zahringen for strategic purposes. It now houses the local history museum.
