Steep Vineyards in autumn colours in Mayschoss from the Saffenburg
Mayschoss is a municipality in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The Ahr snakes its way between Altenahr and Mayschoss in wildly romantic little bends through steep wine vineyards terraced with drystone walls and cliffs. The romantic ruins of Saffenburg Castle stand on a mountain peak high above the town.
