Pukeko bird

Pukeko is the common name, derived from the Maori language, for the Purple Swamphen (Porphyrio porphyrio) of New Zealand. It is also found in mainland Australia, eastern Indonesia, the Mollucas, Aru and Kai Islands, as well as in Papua New Guinea.
