Decoration at the Amir Temur Mausoleum, Samarkand, Uzbekistan. It is the mausoleum of the asian conqueror Tamerlane, also known as Timur. It is important in the history of Turkic-Persian Architecture as the precursor and model for later great Moghul architecture tomb in northern indian dynasty, including Humayuns tomb in Delhi and Taj Mahal in Agra, built by Timurs descendents.
