View of Capela de Santo Estevão, St Stephen's chapel. It is located in Baleal peninsula or isthmus and is a small temple built in the rock, possibly dating from the century XVI or XVII. It presents a facade of populist character, and the interior is a single nave. It is venerated, along with St. Stephen, to Our Lady of Mercy, whose image is associated with an interesting legend It is a catholic temple, originally frequented especially by fishermen and their families. Baleal is located in the Portuguese western coast, 1 hour away from Lisbon (Lisboa) in north direction.
