Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky - the main Orthodox Cathedral in Yalta, one of the attractions of the city; It is located at ul. Gardening, 2. Construction of the cathedral was inextricably linked with the Russian imperial house, which is considered the patron saint Alexander Nevsky. The cathedral was built in honor of Russian Emperor Alexander II, who died at the hands of the People. Building Committee, established March 1, 1890, led by the famous Yalta engineer and ethnographer Bertier de la Garde. Large sums were donated by noble citizens BV Khvoshchinskiy and JF Tokmakov, land baron gave AL Wrangell. The architects were NP Krasnov and PK Terebenev, personally approved the draft of which the Emperor Alexander III.
