Sea Mist At Portencross Castle
A sea mist or haar enveloped Portencross Castle on the Ayrshire coast of Scotland for days on end earlier this year. While the usually panoramic views over the river Clyde were totally obscured the mist brought its own special atmosphere , evoking memories of the ancient Viking marauders who would sail in from the north under cover of mists like this to plunder the coastline.The castle dates back to the 14th century and is a well loved local landmark
