Use of the African broomstick

It is made from the apical bud of the palm species commonly called raffia palm. The tender leaves of this bud are dried and then progressively arranged in a single unit fixed on a support previously braided from the same material. This assembly is subsequently wound into a sort of object bouquet from which the handle and the sweeping portion are distinctly distinguished.
