Camel Rock is a short drive north from Bermagui along Wallaga Lake Road will bring you to the turn off to Camel Rock. This striking rock formation was identified and named by Bass and Flinders during the first mapping of the coastline of the colony of New South Wales. Camel Rock is a popular scenic attraction with car parking, a picnic area under the shade of several large trees and toilet facilities. Camel Rock Surf Beach is well known for its great surf, swimming, rock pools to explore, snorkelling and fishing. The beach is patrolled during the summer months and is well sheltered if there is a north easterly wind. Take the walking track just before the viewing platform to Murunna Point, a significant Aboriginal place, which overlooks Wallaga Lake where it opens to the sea.NY DSC
